When does the 6 week program start and why is my first session free?

There is no specific start date. If you qualify for this exclusive program you will be directed to a scheduling form where you can book your first session. Your first session is free, this is so you can try us first to see if we’re the right gym for you before you officially join us :)

Is the 6 week program for me?

This program is for you if you are looking to exercise and keep fit and build your confidence whilst learning a real practical skill as a hobby and self-defense. There is no doubt that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu will improve all aspects of your life after you experience it:

Is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu safe for beginners?

Yes! – If this is your first time training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu then don’t worry, at Legends MMA one of the first things you will notice when you step into the gym is the friendly vibes! We have beginners come through every day, so you are not alone!

Do I need to be strong, flexible, and in good shape before starting?

No! – You do not need to be in particularly good shape before you start training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The most important thing is to just be good to yourself and make a commitment to join the program – Once you start training you’ll be amazed at what you can do!

How should I prepare for my first class and what should I wear?

You don’t need any special preparation before your first class. Just wear comfortable workout clothes (t-shirt and shorts) and bring a powerful attitude so you are ready to learn and have fun!

Where are you located?

We are located in the heart of the CBD at Level 1 / 362 Little Collins Street in the Melbourne CBD. You can enter using the big glass door to the right of Flight Centre.

How did you get started in Martial Arts?

I would come into the gym and watch my friend train and one day decided to give it a go myself and I became hooked…I just wish I started earlier!

What was your first experience like at Legends MMA?

I was kind of nervous because I hadn’t trained in MMA before but after I had my induction and started the warm ups the nerves went away and I got really into it as the class went on. Great feeling.

How has your training developed with the support of the trainers and your team mates at Legends MMA?

I definitely love how supportive everyone is and how you are encouraged to get the best out of yourself. It’s more than just rocking up and doing a martial arts class, it’s about pushing yourself to always reach new highs. I started by wanting to learn some self-defense and have a great workout and now I’ve gone way beyond that and I’m learning as many different combos and techniques as I can – I even recently competed in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament!

How does Martial Arts keep you motivated?

Always wanting to better myself – my gains in cardio, strength, and technique have been going through the roof.

How has taking up Martial Arts changed your life outside of the gym?

In Martial Arts everyone has their own style and that nobody you train with is the same – and through this I learnt the importance of being myself. This has translated to how I live my life outside of the gym where I focus on being who I want to be and I am much happier for it.

What advice would you give anyone looking to try Martial Arts?

It’s ok to be nervous but remember to relax. Martial arts is really fun, and I think if you are able to manage the first few weeks where you are picking up the basics, then you’ll start loving it and get obsessed with it. I can’t get enough and sometimes even train twice a day.
